Many thanks for your interest in Football Fans in Training.
We are updating our waiting list for future programmes. To ensure your name is on the list, please fill in the form below.
The Football Fans in Training programme runs over 12 weeks at all Scottish Premier League clubs and some First Division clubs across Scotland, and aims to help men aged 35-65 with a BMI of >27 kg/m2 become more active, eat better, lose weight and maintain these changes.
Most of the men who have completed it so far have felt better in themselves after doing the programme and really enjoyed taking part:
FFIT Participant Autumn 2010: The good thing was there was no targets set, so it’s basically you set your own bar. You can achieve it and there was no pressure. It was take it at your own pace.
FFIT Participant Spring 2011: It was the idea of getting fit and doing it with your football cub which was appealing. You feel like you might get a wee bit of insight into what goes on in the football club and it was the idea of working with a group, rather than doing it on your own and hopefully it would improve. And it’s certainly proved to be that, I’ve never walked so much in my puff! Every lunch time, pedometer on and I just went marching and I’ve really enjoyed it.
FFIT Participant Autumn 2011: It opened up my eyes to the way I had been living, and basically diet was one of the main criteria that had to be looked at, as well as exercise. The programme’s certainly put me back on track. I didn’t really give myself a target weight to get down to, but I did lose something in the region of about twenty pounds, which was pretty good.
Thank you once again for getting in touch and if you have any further questions please don’t hesitate to ask by emailing ffit-spltrust@scotprem.com.
